Dough Ray Me…
Delectable Baked Goods since Fall 2001
September 2006, New York City

“It has been my dream to have my own pastry company,” says Jon Chazen, owner of Dough Ray Me.” After finishing culinary school and realizing that baking was something I loved and was quite good at, I decided it was time to do what my heart was telling me and start my own baked goods company.”

A New Yorker for over twenty-five years, Jon studied business and marketing at Baruch College and worked as a sales associate at Barneys New York. Yet Jon always baked as a hobby and in 1998, enrolled in Peter Kump’s Culinary School with a pastry concentration to see if he REALLY liked it. Of course he did! After receiving an incredibly positive response from his customers, Jon he decided to make a full-time career out of cookie making.

He began making cookies for little cafes in Soho and for company events at Chaiken and Capone, RCA Music, and for Mademoiselle, Marie Claire and Simplicity magazine parties.

Due to overwhelming demand, Dough Ray Me (formally Jon Dough Fine Baked Goods) is expanding their incredible-tasting line of cookies into intimate cafes in New York City’s Soho area as well as extending their special orders division into retail establishments.

Heralded as “delicious” by no less than Gourmet Magazine, Dough Ray Me Fine Baked Goods are hand-made with the finest ingredients and utmost care in a small kitchen in New York City’s Soho. Purchased by tasteful “cookie” connoisseurs aching to find a perfect dessert for their company baskets,
special catering needs or just for themselves, the treats have received accolades from such premiere publications such as The New York Times and O - The Oprah Winfrey Magazine.

Dough Ray Me incorporates ingredients such as lemon peel, orange, currants, almonds, oatmeal, and of course, chocolate into delectable concoction. The standard cookie sampler includes the Luna (chocolate with finely chopped almonds laced with espresso), the Summaiya (oatmeal raisin with sour cherries and potato chips), and the Veronica (orange and currant shortbread) all made by Jon in his Soho kitchen.
